Why are you here?
You are probably here for one or two very common reasons. First off is your PC won't turn on or won't start, you need to take it to someone who can troubleshoot it. If you are here because your PC is really slow compared to when you got it then prepare to be helped.
First off let me explain about spyware.... Hmmmmmm... Spyware is a pain in the butt. Spyware is a tool that was designed for marketing. This stuff gets on your PC and connects to a webpage. Then it connects to the webpage and moves info back and forth. A little bit intrusuve but only an ethical problem until... Spyware is cumulative, what that means to you is that once you have a little spyware on your machine you will get more unless you clean it off. That is when you start to notice the real slowdown. Your machine will crawl because of the amount of spyware pieces on it that are connecting and moving data back and forth. So now that you now it is there clean it off.
If you can still use your machine and can access the internet go to pack.google.com and get Spyware Doctor now. Update it and run it. You will be amazed at how many pieces you will find. The version of Spyware Dr that you download from Google Pack is the free version. That means that you have to open it once in a while and see what it has found. You can then remoce the bad things. Now the free version is really cool and will keep your machine clean, if you love it then buy the full version.
If you are moderately infected and you can still acces the internet that should clean you up and then you can use the other tools as you see fit. Don't forget AVG free, it really is a must have.
So if you cannot get anything to clean your machine you have to get the "big guns". Combo Fix is the way to go to make the process easy. You need to run this program on any machine that is seriously infected.
Caution! You are being warned that when a machine gets too infected the results can often be unpredictable. That means that these products work well for us but sometimes it can get ugly. Keep you machine backed up and especially those photos! We are not responsible for anything that you use from this page!
So your machine won't connect to the internet and it is really slow. You have a problem. You need to get the tool "combofix" onto a usb drive and then boot the bad machine in "safe mode". You can get to safe mode by hitting the F8 key before the windows screen comes up. You will get to a DOS screen that has about 8 different options, one of them being "Safe Mode with Network support". Choose that one. You are now in safe mode. This is a bare bones mode for windows that allows you to clean things because they are not running. This is when you want to put your usb drive into the, machine and copy the combofix program onto the bad PC and run it. Follow the instruction. This can take about 20 minutes. Be patient, it sometimes takes a while.
There have been some great new improvements in the Anti Virus feild. You can always use Norton (Symnatec) or McAfee but these products are sometimes sold as "Suites" and often they do not do the best job at protecting against viruse's. Go figure. Some products that do protect well against Virus's are;

2. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28
4. Avast Home Edition 4.8.1229.80826
5. PC Tools AntiVirus Free Edition 5
These are the products that we have used successfully most often. There are a lot of products out there. If you have something "pop up" and tell you that you are infected, do not click on it! Close it! This is a way to infect your PC.
